our high priced cattle and looking at places like mexico to source cattle at cheaper prices

We as a country are also rebuilding our herd, so my thinking is that if mexican cattle and indian buffalo
meat displace our live markets and get a good foot in the door and our cattle prices are still higher
than these alternatives, then livingstone may come into its own, as these things tend to be cyclical
we may get a few good years out of it before the cycle turns again.

We are very lucky that it is in care and maintainence at present as most processors are doing it quite
tough and actually loosing money, so we would have been bleeding cash for sure

In a few years time when the northern herd gets back to normal numbers and the live export market
may be looking a lot different than today with more competition from cheaper sources, livingstone might
well and truely be a godsend for the whole norhern cattle markets

The couple of million we spend each year to keep it in mothballs might be money well spent
