Digital Car buying an increasing focus:
CAR delivered a strong half with its Instant Offers (AU) and Dealer Direct (Korea) products, and flagged an increased focus on helping to facilitate digital car buying. Although requiring additional investment, we are very positive on this strategy given:
(1) Online car buying remains at extremely low levels (c.3% in Korea), providing a significant runway for growth;
(2) CAR is the clear #1 marketplace in AU/Korea, providing optionality to evolve;
(3) Although in response to consumer demand, CAR is working in partnership (at least initially) with its dealers, mitigating the risk of disenchanting its network.
