Why get upset about shorters? If you think a shorter is selling at lower than what the stock is worth, then that's a buying opportunity for you: take their money. If you are cash-constrained and can't do this, just hold on to the stock: over the longer term the share price will reflect its true value. If you are playing some short term pump and dump strategy then I can understand why you might be upset about shorters, but in that case I don't have much sympathy for you and you are certainly no better than shorters. Shorting should not be illegal: frauds and bad accounting are exposed this way.
