They probably should have committed to putting in a main haulage shaft at Gwalia ten years ago. When I used to work for these guys there was constant chin rubbing and head scratching about this very option, but they've always balked at the capex. Running trucks up the decline on 1.5hr trips is hardly sustainable long-term, so they've got some hard calls to make.
Byrnecut probably glad to be out, seismic standoff times were evidently creating some issues for them. Not sure the new mob know what they're in for lol.
