WA (as with Queensland) is a laggard state re the percentage of the population vaccinated twice against this coronavirus. That's not good, and will lead to adverse consequences for the unvaccinated, and is holding back our nation.

Remember while great that WA produces so much iron ore, grain, lithium and gold, it is not self-sufficient in supermarket dry and freezer goods, or many other consumer products. The large (and increasing) number of Pacific National/SCT intermodal trains that carry the bulk of fast moving consumer goods across the Nullarbor to Perth are testimony, with more wagons or containers (TEUs) originating in Melbourne than Sydney.
