Another option of course would be for the company to beat them to it. An on-market buyback would be quite interesting. The company has plenty of cash and probably not many opportunities out there that could provide a better shareholder return in the short term. It's not like they really needed the money from selling to Tripp at the time, just giving him an opportunity to get some skin in the game so a lazy $25M on-market buyback would mean the shorters would be competing against the company.
