DP World has put a positive spin on the situation following the mammoth rises granted to their employees (albeit multi-year i.e. not all at once) and cessation of strikes. Given DP World's ports (unlike most of Patrick's, excluding Melbourne) are not fully automated, this puts DP World at a competitive disadvantage. Clearly Patrick's (owned equally by QUB and Canada's Brookfield) has been vastly superior at industrial relations, but there was only ever one Chris Corrigan.
It'll be interesting to see how long it takes for container deliveries to normalise from DP World's stevedoring operations. Exports have also been affected with vessels eliminating voyages to/from Australia or omitting, or changing the order of, east coast Oz port calls. Only imports are relevant to REH here.
