The question is are the issues cyclical or structural? My view is:
- restrictions on elective surgery (Cyclical)
- patients' reluctance or inability to attend healthcare services (Cyclical)
- staff shortages caused by "close contact" rules (Cyclical)
- increased employee costs due to an increased use of sick and personal leave (Possibly structural if the slightest flu means a sick day)
- increased consumable costs (possibly structural)
- supply chain disruptions (Cyclical)
On balance I suspect some issues will be resolved over time. I am more interested in what the market has priced. Is it overly optimistic or overly pessimistic or about right. IDX is an easy hold for me... I feel that the market has factored a lot of this into the share price.
