In the long term ppt & the combined PPT+PDL company is a no brainer for PPT shareholders. When the deal was made / price for PDL agreed……PPT was trading at a 17 times forward earnings multiple and PDL a 10 times…..PPT is mostly buying PDL in scrip……so it used its higher multiple to buy pdls cheaper multiple…..no matter how you cut this deal it will be EPS accretive from day one for old PPT holders.
