Just prior to the GFC, the then CEO's of the big 4 bankers, especially one, was very outspoken and critical of the then Labor Govt as to - leave our sector alone, no Govt interference, we will merge if we wat to - or words to that effect. Several weeks later some four down to Canberra demanding full Govt (read taxpayer funds) to bail then out and guarantee them to avoid defaults.
