the problem with history is just that... it is the past.
AGL used to do gas (for lighting)... no gas reserves anymore ... imagine how we would be sitting now if that was still part of the business!
The other problem with history for AGL is that the quantity of generation has vastly changed... and AGL has more assets on the "approaching retirement" side of the equation than it doesn't. Sure - these assets are key to the current operation of the NEM as whole... but they won't be in that position for as long as many hope.
We do have IMO the best customer book in Australia ... but in terms of generation - we are multi billions behind the investment curve and there are bigger international energy players entering our market every day
On the positive... review results should not be far away and I hope against hope that it will clearly outline a path forward for generation
