The French electorate did not reject the French right. The RN (far right) had over 10 million votes (the most votes), ENS (Macrons coalition - centrist) had approx. 6 million votes and the nouveau front (far left coalition) got just under 7 million votes. So technically from the 3 majors, far right got the highest votes from the electorate out of the three political classes. It is just the way that French politics is structured that the RN got the least seats of the three because the others pulled their candidates in the right areas to team up and attack RN. If it was structured like it was in the first round then RN would have had a sweeping majority in parliament because they had the highest of the popular vote. A very strange situation but it shows that the far right popularity is only increasing in France and across Europe as immigration and social issues worsen.
