G'day, my daughter works in fashion footwear here in Melbourne for a well established brand.
The company sales through its on-line store and national chain stores like David Jones etc are doing quite well. Their sales through wholesale to mainly regional businesses are terrible. The cause is the fear the wholesalers have of getting caught with inventory that they cannot sell. This sounds familiar to AX1.
Covid-19 has scarred a lot of retailers who only have a bricks and mortar presence. Hopefully in time customer demand will overwhelm the wholesalers fears and they will once again place wholesale orders with confidence.
