Firstly, I did move away from AGL for my electricity long ago. I only have 2 choices in QLD for gas, AGL & Origin. Like our banks, they just collude to raise their prices. There isn't enough competition.
@925mug - I just think your comments are stupid. "It's your choice to stay on the grid and it's your choice to switch on lights or boil a kettle full of water." C'mon fool. My qtrly bill is not cheap as chip and tell that to all the people who are struggling to chose between putting food on the table or running an air con during summer. I have a 6Kw solar system but my feed in tariff was cut to 8c long ago. I've looked at expanding it but can't due to the cost. (especially a battery)
@Winniethepoo - Man that story about the war in Ukraine driving up power prices is crap. You surely don't believe that do you? Next you will tell me that prices will come down once the war is over? LOL.
Maybe you guys just have higher incomes and are a bit narrow minded about those doing it tough. Not sure.
Essential services should be nationalised and not run to make fat profits. That's my opinion.
