What do you think happened when spot prices as shown in your charts increased by anywhere from 100% to 1000%? Did AGL and other electricity and gas providers increase bills by 100% to 1000%?
No.
Retailers dont charge spot prices. They hedge prices for the year ahead. It is an average of year ahead prices.
The AER regulates maximum prices. Companies dont make up stories about wars to charge what they want.
