Fair point about contract vs spot. Having said that though, no company could pass those kind of increases onto their customers. I can't agree on the war part though. A convenient excuse for companies to price gouge, hence why we now have an investigation into Coles. Corporate profits are driving inflation, not wages.
I guess during these high inflation times, people in general are becoming more distrusting of companies and we see these huge numbers which also includes the money paid to executives which are far higher than the average employee and it's really on the nose with people.
