If you believe you are being charged too much then go off grid with solar and battery. After all we are being incessantly told renewables are cheaper.
It's your choice to stay on the grid and it's your choice to switch on lights or boil a kettle full of water.
Electricity is a wonderful product that you can do so much with. It's cheap as chips when compared with other products. It's very versatile.
I'm sick of people saying it's expensive and they are getting ripped off. You've got a switch use it to turn things off or never switch on. The decision to use is yours.
