One interviewee on the 'lively' blog referred to the PXA SP being at A$13.50 (which by close on Friday 5 April 2024 it wasn't: try $12.34) and said it was a potential takeover target.
He claimed the Australian business was worth A$16 a share but said the 'international' (read 'UK') venture had proven more difficult and cost a lot more than expected so he extrapolated that SH had an A$2.50 per share 'penalty' for that.
He said he doesn't hold shares just for takeover likelihood.
I lack the knowledge to opine whether the UK business will ever be profitable and return an acceptable percentage on the employed capital. Patience is a virtue, although the concern is that some listed corporates (WES is one with hardware) have had poor experiences in the British Isles, as on a far smaller scale and more recently did EQT (Equity Trustees).
