In the Netherlands McDonald's has been targeted by these protests. With protests disrupting several stores by targeting customers entering and disruption of stores.
It seems that several KFC stores have been in the cross fire of such activities and suffered collateral damage. Particularly, those stores in the vicinity of McDonald's such as food courts and other premises.
Having owned this stock on and off over the years I am very happy to have re entered in early April at just under $10. Thankfully was able to buy more pre results in the low 9's.
The beauty about this consumer facing stock as a staple is that it doesn't face the troublesome issue of shrinkage (theft) that other similar staple stocks such as Coles, Woolworths and TRS are having.
And I would call this a staple rather than a consumer discretionary as people have to eat and let's face it the youth of today are absolutely useless at preparing any type of meal. And with meals and snacks still under $10 it's affordable.
