All 3 have gone to ad supported streaming. Against this backdrop, how can anyone be confident in the future of free to air TV stations? The streaming giants are basically replicating their exact business model, except their economies of scale allow them to spend far, far more on content. Amazon Prime's Lord of the Rings TV series cost $1.5bn to make. That means that what Amazon spent on this one show is enough to buy Channel 7's $230m market cap 6 times over. How does Channel 7 compete with that?
