It’s just that market tends to be forward looking and active fund managers have lost a lot of their lustre as most can’t consistently outperform the index. Hence their loss of ability to charge a management premium and hence outflows of FUM.
I suspect the market see a situation where PPT has destroyed shareholder value by overpaying for dubious quality assets while now selling the jewels to pay for the said purchase.
But maybe you are correct and PPT will start charging bigger management fees than its competitors and rivers of gold will ensue.
Different opinions make the market so load up on the good value on offer and don’t worry about others bottom feeding. It is difficult to see in any case how some anonymous poster on HC could move the market in PPT shares.
