That DSK rallied 30% does not change the intelligence of your strategy to be all in on a single stock. The suggestion that was provided to you (to diversify beyond a single company) is likely the result of hard learned lessons from more experienced investors, a lesson that you should seek to avoid yourself.
DSK has dropped from $1.24 to $0.77 over the past 12 months, a capital loss of 40% offset by some dividends. In contrast, most high growth funds are up > 10% and many portfolios are up significantly more than that. Therefore, your strategy has resulted in a real loss of > 40%. DSK would need to recover to around $1.10 just for you to be on par.
