That’s the theory confirmed by the company’s CEO statement!

Would u prefer two cash distribution now instead of taking a chance of a future possible increase or loss?

Being paid now gives u the freedom to determine ur risk profile, whether u want to enter the market and how much u wish to to risk if u received a dividend and cash distribution out of the monies being allocated on this buyback.

I’m not against a partial buyback but I believe the winners out this current trend are the traders and institutions…

These professional hate the alternative forms of capital return because such returns are treated by the ATO as normal income…once again ignore dividends.
Yet the majority of individuals in the company could probably get a tax free extra distribution as a return of capital on top of dividends.

To me, it looks more than likely the “Institution of Director’s” are being pressured to bypass a fairer distribution alternative by institution etc.

I have mentioned why they hate the alternatives and that is why they keep waffling or conning the ignorant general public with messaging about best practices.

Its best practise for them because most retail investors generally hold their shares and don’t partake in this type of online buybacks…most of the fund will end being siphoned to them.
Furthermore the time period for the buyback gives them ample time to fiddle their holdings and avoid paying income tax in preference for the lower capital gains tax.

It is the unfairness by design in distributing the excess funds that I’m objecting too.
