I am not a trader. TBH I don't mind either way.....whether an on market buyback or special div. On market reduces the shares on issue which in turn means bigger divs going forward, hence the effect is smoothed out over the long term. I disagree that it is a disservice to shareholders, you are implying mgmt are doing something sinister.....which is just not the case.
