The FYI pilot plant has proven it can produce some of the best HPA product in the world to date . Now we have to get our engineering correct and upscale our plant . If we can prove that the science works at scale , I would expect many plants world wide to be built before the decade is out . Alcoa and Roly and the scientists at IMO must be confident that this is going to work at scale and they talk about cracking the code in making 4N and 5N with "ultra low impurities and exceptional quality and characteristics" (quoted from 12/11/2020 announcement). HPA made from kaolin that FYI has been produced on previous PP runs last year went through intense testing including X~ray powder diffraction (XRD) . During this detailed testing revealed that the elemental trace pattern has an extremely close correlation to an number of existing HPA products . Which means the potential compatibility for multiple existing customers is very high.
