    BOD was acting in shareholders' interests by raising before announcing potentially damaging news. Sorry to hear that you got burnt. Same thing happened to me with another company where I participated in an SPP, only for the company to release a terrible quarterly a few days later which tanked the share price. This kind of crap goes on all the time. Count yourself lucky that you are not 50-75% in the red like a lot of long term holders (sufferers) here.
