Wrt JCB:
Galan: “consultant and advisor to the board”

Not clear, afaict, what he actually does for GLN.
Any info on how much he has been paid?
It’s not unusual, in my experience, to put “experts” “on the team”, even if their involvement is minimal/trivial, to boost credibility/knowldegebase/expertise/capability/etc…. What he actually does, or has done, with/for GLN remains a mystery afaict.
How was he involved in the “indicative proposal”…? Anyone’s guess. He presumably would recognise the quality of the assets, yes. Have there been “negotiations” or “discussions” between the companies? Speculate all you like.
Imo simply because someone is listed as a “consultant and advisor to the board”, doesn’t necessarily mean that there have been discussions between the companies wrt this proposal.

Whatever the case may be, how does that affect what GLN shareholders will think of any proposal that may ultimately be presented to them?
Assume the “worst” for a second, and that the companies are scheming this “plan”…. The bottom line is that a threshold number of shareholders would need to accept it, afaik. JP and co don’t own more than 10% between them iirc….?
