Ps. I can’t imagine that confidential business dealings of this nature are in any way “covered” wrt source anonymity/protection for public interest media reporting. How could / why should they be…?
However, do you think that the media company has been questioned by regulators about its source in this instance, and appropriate action taken?

Plus, it goes to show what dogs the media companies are, when they should be well aware that release of this information would impact the share price of the company, creating advantage/disadvantage in the market, regardless if that was only temporary.
