If I were a shorter and decided on shorting the lithium sector then GXY would definitely be one of my last choices.
It seems to me that shorters are hitting GXY purely because there are so many shorters hitting GXY and they are in somewhat of a negative feedback loop where there are so many shorters that fundamentals don't really matter to them anymore.
Hopefully the sudden spike will burn enough of them to break the cycle and get them looking elsewhere, which will then send us higher and burning more of them, sending us higher and so on, creating a positive feedback loop.

That's my dream anyway
