All very in the future (depending on this study period & outcome) & speculative, but:
- FMG has previously allowed BC Iron 3rd party access to its FMG Pilbara rail infrastructure
- Galena & the other non-iron ore mines do not compete with FMG's business
- Extra income for the FMG / Oakajee Port & Rail business unit, would help their business case too
- The State Govt will not repeat the mistakes made in the original 1960's agreement with BHP for their Newman railway so probably declare any new railway "Open Access".
The intent back in the 60's was for the Newman Railway to form a segment of the yet-to-be-built Perth to Port Hedland Railway. If this Oakajee segment goes ahead, will be good for all mines in the area, not just G1A.
