The main Al minerals in bauxite are gibbsite (65% Al2O3), boehmite (84% Al2O3) and diaspore (85% Al2O3).Commercially gibbsite is the most desirable as it can be processed at substantially lower temperatures.Typical the main mineral in Guinean bauxite is gibbsite. Usually, boehmite and diaspore are low, less than 5% of the Al minerals. The XRF results suggest there might be more boehmite and diaspore.
