What exactly in that announcement brought on the sudden speight of buying?

It didn't really tell us much that we didn't already hope was going on behind the scenes... it is obviously nice to hear it direct from the company - but when the announcement is "Gas Commercialisation Update" and is price sensitive - I kind of expected more news on actual progress!!!

Was it issued to allow someone to buy a decent chunk without ASX issuing a speeding ticket? Just a theory because I can't really see the "update" in the update.....

The buying could also be related to the material progress - such as land purchases in Newcastle being mooted over at ESG - putting NSW CSG on the map and showing institutions and investors that it is a serious business and that they will hopefully expand the same way as the QLD predecessors.

And once we start to get valued on QLD CSG metrics, MEL deserves a serious re-rating. Things are starting to look far more interesting IMO.
