The pretence of being able to control inflation without causing a global dark age will hopefully end soon. Hopefully they'll realise that interest rates can't be raised much further on ~$300T of global debt without causing a deflationary spiral to begin. Hopefully congress won't become deadlocked about stimulus initiatives, and won't take political refuge in larger-scale warfare.
