The problem is the gas fields are remote from Harare in the bush, with no local skills or support.
Even Harare has a limited number of electrical generating firms, skills and support.
The Zimbabwe government has clung on to the monopoly for large and medium power generation, stifling the power sector.
Is there a more modular and portable solution? Thinking containerized generators, skid transformers, containerized switchgear and so on.
I see the Himoinsa Eureka Mine power standby system is containerized, but that is only 12MW.
How scalable and what is the maximum practical size of this type of modular solution?
