Fully agree with Blade and Autosime, very well said. These things take time they arent overnight decisions. Drafted conditions and clauses are looked at and re-written by both parties based on new legislation. I’m also of the belief that the fact cleanco’s a QLD government entity would definitely play a part in delaying things as they need to appease the relevant ministers.
I’ve taken a break from politics since the east coast gas intervention but i was having dinner with a fellow comet holder last night and our discussion reminded me how the intervention has been fabricated by Australian politicians to act as if they are solving the energy price inflation when in reality most gas producers can apply for exemptions from the fictitious price cap and in the background deals are being signed to extend coal production to 2035.
Anyway, IMO Comet and its shareholders are in the box seat, the desire for new gas supply is the highest it’s ever been. Have a great weekend folks.
