in the long run - china and usa will develop a status quo
China is too big and powerful for USA to bomb and bring "freedom and democracy"
In certain situations where interests align they will still co operate in the future even if they compete
When trade and huge sums of money are involved ..everyone wants to make money !!
Having both chinese and USA presence is good thing ...
Almost like a sure thing ..one or the other or both will want this to succeed cause its in there national interests
