The Kilkivan area, historically recognized for its substantial gold production, ranked as the sixth-largest gold producer in Queensland during the 1980s. This rich history suggests the region holds immense potential for further exploration and resource development.
Unfortunately, for many years, DGR Global held the rights to this promising area but did not undertake significant exploration or development activities. This practice of land banking effectively locked out numerous capable and enthusiastic explorers from accessing and harnessing the potential of the Kilkivan region, as well as possibly similar areas like Devils Mountain.The inactivity of DGR in these areas has been a significant barrier to progress, as it prevented the application of modern exploration techniques and technologies that could have unlocked new deposits and revitalized the local mining industry. However, it is encouraging to see that genuine and concerted efforts are now being directed towards exploring and developing the area.

Devils Mountain would also be the closest goldfields with scale to the 6-13 million ounce Gympie goldfield (BHP's estimate)
