I'm not surprised by the fact that no Aussie listed IO company has shipped product from the African continent. I was a holder in SDL & EQX, thankfully sold both before they fell off cliffs.

If GEN can prove a development & finance pathway that's not 100% reliant on Chinese finance, I'd hazard a guess to say the company might well get taken over before production starts.

Check out Ariti's history with African Iron Limited. Taken over by Exxaro in 2013 for $350m. African Iron Limited was looking at a 5mpta start up operation. Railway was near the tenement, and linked to port. That all sounds somewhat familiar.

Van Rooyen was on the other side of the African Iron Limited transaction, working for Exxaro at the time.
