GENERAL: ABA: Abano Wins INFINZ Corporate Communications Award
Abano Healthcare Group has been announced as the winner of the Emerging
Leaders Best Corporate Communicator Award, at the prestigious INFINZ Awards
dinner in Auckland last night.
The Award, open to all listed companies outside the NZX50, was presented to
Abano by Tim Bennett, CEO of the Award sponsor, NZX, who said: "Abano's
communication was very clear and provided a good insight to operational,
financial and strategic goals and delivery. It is a complex business but
executed its communication concisely, to the point, and in a way which was
comprehensive but uncluttered."
Accepting the Award on behalf of Abano, Chief Operating Officer Richard Keys,
said: "The Award is a pleasing endorsement of Abano's approach to shareholder
communications, which is to be open, transparent and accessible.
"We have a clear focus on creating shareholder value and a no surprises
philosophy. We believe that the more informed our shareholders and the
investment community are, the more likely they are to continue trusting us
with their investment.
"The commitment to shareholder engagement is led from the top down, from the
chairman, Trevor Janes, the Board and managing director Alan Clarke, through
to management.
"We talk to and encourage dialogue and participation from our shareholders.

investors and their advisors.
"This approach has helped us build outstanding levels of trust with our
shareholders and investors and this has become most apparent in recent times.

have won this Award twice in that time."
