POSITIVE DECISION ON CLIMATE CHANGE APPEAL
Bathurst Resources Ltd (ASX & NZX: BTU) is pleased to announce that it has
received a positive decision from Judge J Whata on the appeal against the
climate change declaration made in Bathurst's favour on 1 May 2012.
The High Court has upheld the original decision made by Judge LJ Newhook in
the Environment Court that, in considering the applications for resource
consents for the Escarpment Mine Project the Court cannot have any regard to
the effects on climate change of discharges into the air of greenhouse gases
that might arise from the burning of coal.
