GENERAL: CEN: CEN Successful Pricing of New Wholesale Bond Issue

Successful Pricing of New Wholesale Bond Issue

Contact Energy today announced the successful pricing of NZ$100 million of
new wholesale bonds issued in the domestic market.

The issue consists of NZ$50 million of five year bonds and NZ$50 million of
seven year bonds with fixed coupons of 4.800% and 5.277% respectively. The
issue date of the five year bonds is 24 May 2013 and the issue date of the
seven year bonds is 27 May 2013.

Bank of New Zealand was the sole lead arranger for the bond issue.

These bonds will not be quoted on the NZX debt market.
