Contact's admission to ASX confirmed

ASX Limited ("ASX") has today announced the admission of Contact Energy
Limited (Contact) to the Official List as an ASX Foreign Exempt Listing.

The ticker code for trading in Contact shares on the ASX is "CEN".

Official quotation of Contact's shares on the ASX will commence at 11.00am
AEST (1.00pm NZT) on Thursday 24 September 2015.

The ticker code for trading in Contact shares on the NZX remains "CEN".

"We committed to listing on the ASX following the recent change of control
and it is pleasing that we have achieved this in the expected timeframe. This
now provides us with further opportunities to attract a wider pool of
investors," said Dennis Barnes, Contact's Chief Executive.
