DOWNERMOUCHEL AWARDED SYDNEY WEST ZONE ROAD CONTRACT
Downer EDI Limited (Downer) announced today that Roads and Maritime Services,
an agency of Transport for NSW, has awarded the DownerMouchel joint venture a
Stewardship Maintenance Contract for the Sydney West Zone road network.
The contract involves the planning, design and delivery of programs of
maintenance and improvement for road and bridge assets on a network of 2,200
lane kilometres.
DownerMouchel will mobilise immediately in preparation for the contract,
which is scheduled to commence on 31 March 2014. The term of the contract is
seven years, with an option for extension to 10 years.
The value of the contract is approximately $100 million per year.
The contract includes an option for related services on the Sydney North Zone
road network valued at a further $40 million per year.
DownerMouchel is a 50:50 joint venture between Downer and Mouchel, a UK-based
international infrastructure and business services group. DownerMouchel also
operates three Integrated Service Arrangements for Main Roads Western
Australia involving the delivery of fence-to-fence road network asset
management over 6,600 road kilometres.
The Chief Executive Officer of Downer, Grant Fenn, said Downer was delighted
to have been awarded the Sydney West Zone contract.
