United States Direct to Consumer Energy Mad LED project
Energy Mad has launched a direct to consumer LED pilot project in the United
States with marketing company Threshold in Metro Dallas Texas.
The project involves Threshold's sales representatives demonstrating Energy
Mad's LED light bulbs to consumers, and calculating their electricity savings
from replacing their old light bulbs with LEDs. It is based on the Energy
Mad's New Zealand Direct Sales
Programme.
Threshold is one of largest outsourced in-person marketing and sales
companies in the United States and is currently conducting campaigns in over
150 cities.
"Energy Mad is excited about the potential of scaling to a much larger number
of Threshold sales representatives should this pilot prove successful" said
Energy Mad co-founder and Managing Director Chris Mardon.
"The current low uptake of LEDs in the United States, combined with little
competition in the direct to consumer space, creates a market opportunity
that Energy Mad would like to take advantage of," he said.
Energy Mad Chief Executive Officer Paul Ravlich said "The key challenge for
Energy Mad and Threshold is to deliver the sales volume during the one month
pilot while fine tuning the systems and processes, so that both Energy Mad
and Threshold agree to scale the project".
