GENERAL: MCK: MCK: Copthorne Hotel Christchurch Central building
Millennium & Copthorne Hotels New Zealand Limited (MCK:NZX) confirms that
while under demolition, the former Copthorne Hotel Christchurch Central
building collapsed on Saturday 28th September. The demolition was being
handled by Southern Demolition and Salvage and was progressing according to
plan until that time. The cause of the collapse is not known to MCK and MCK
will be making its own enquiries. MCK will assist the authorities with their
investigations. Reports that MCK had refused assistance in relation to the
demolition are erroneous.
Further updates will be given once more information is known.
