GENERAL: MCK: MCK: NEW COPTHORNE HOTEL FOR ROTORUA
Millennium & Copthorne Hotels New Zealand Limited (NZX: MCK) announced the
launch of the Copthorne Hotel Rotorua with effect from 30 November 2012.
After refurbishment and remodelling works over the last two years, the former
Kingsgate Hotel has been rebranded having received a four-star rating from
Qualmark, New Zealand tourism's official quality assurance organisation, last
week.
MCK Managing Director Mr. B K Chiu said that the Company was pleased to
upgrade its presence in Rotorua.
"Rotorua is a key tourist destination for our international visitors to New
Zealand and our Copthorne Hotel Rotorua will complement our highly regarded
Millennium Hotel Rotorua", he said.
Hotel General Manager Blair Chalmers said that the hard work put in by the
hotel staff in the last two years had been recognised.
"It's great that the work and effort we've put in has been rewarded not only
by the four-star Qualmark rating but also in the rebranding from Kingsgate to
Copthorne. We are proud to be part of the Millennium & Copthorne global
network and Copthorne Hotel Rotorua is excited to welcome guests from around
the world to one of New Zealand's iconic destinations", he said.
Copthorne Hotel Rotorua is less than three hours drive from Auckland. The
hotel features 110 well-appointed accommodation rooms including suites, 5
conference rooms, Jimmy Cook's restaurant and the Lounge Bar. The hotel also
has a heated swimming pool, gymnasium, tennis court, spa and sauna
facilities. Copthorne Hotel Rotorua is a superb choice for holiday makers who
wish to explore this geothermal wonderland. With public area wifi and
