Tit for tat, boys looking after boys. The composition of the most if not all share registers are such that retail holders have very little weighting in voting outcomes. In case of needing to raise funds, directors offer very attractive terms to institutions and in turn the institutions will support resolutions usually with overwhelming majority. Win-win for them both. Retail are more often than not the losers.
Some see current back down a good thing - but one wonders whether any changes will in fact result in directors having an even bigger payout - not forgetting that they have a lot of time thinking about outcomes - me being number one is often at the forefront and treating shareholders as mushrooms is fashionable. Retail holders are hardly at the forefront of company dealings - never ever fair play.
There are very good reasons for certain sayings such as - the rich get richer and the poo.......... The jest of it is there, the rest of it workable.
