GENERAL: MEL: Constitution amendment
For immediate release: Tuesday, 26 March 2013
Meridian advises that its shareholders have formally amended Meridian's
constitution in order to effect the removal of historical indemnities given
to the Meridian and other state-owned electricity companies forming part of
the Government's proposed Government Share Offer programme.
The amendment allows the shareholders to make decisions in relation to the
release and relinquishment by the company of two indemnities relating to
water and land originally granted by the Crown to ECNZ.
Following the amendment, the shareholders have entered into a deed on behalf
of the company formally relinquishing the indemnities.
