GENERAL: NZR: Operational update-Refining NZ planned maintenance shutdown
The shutdown on the hydrocracker and related units which began the first week
of March, is continuing, with work on a number of key units already finished.
Bad weather and emergent repairs had put final completion of the shutdown
back five days to 8 April. Start-up of the processing units over the weekend
has identified the need for further maintenance and the shutdown is now
expected to complete next week.
We have been working closely with our customers on supply planning and will
continue to do so for the duration of the shutdown. The refinery is
continuing to manufacture fuel products through key processing units that are
not part of the shutdown.
Refining NZ's margin will be impacted by the hydrocracker being offline as
this limits the Company's ability to upgrade lower cost feedstock into high
value products.
