NEW NZX EQUITY INDICES METHODOLOGY
10 April 2012. As previously announced on 19 March 2012:
o The methodology for the NZX 50 index is moving to a pure free float
methodology,
o A new liquidity requirement is being added to the NZX Equity Indices
Methodology, and
o The NZX 20 Index is to be launched on 23 April 2012.
As a result of those changes, please find attached the updated NZX Equity
Indices Methodology. This Methodology will be in effect from the June 2012
index review and will replace the current
NZX Equity Indices Methodology that is dated August 2010.
Attached to this announcement is also a document that has a comparison
between the August 2010 Methodology and the June 2012 Methodology. The
differences between the June 2012 and August 2010 Methodology documents are
highlighted in red.
